WHO WE ARE

Founded in 2014, Westcoast International Secondary School, the only English-medium secondary school on the west coast of the island,  is part of the Uniciti Education Hub encompassing the whole education offer of Uniciti.

In Form 1 to 3, a challenging, engaging and international minded concept focussed curriculum is studied by all pupils, the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum (CLS). It is our job – of course – to engage all students in their learning but also to encourage and develop intellectual independence to a high level.

In form 4 and 5, the students work on a curriculum established for the IGCSE. These are external exams, set and marked by Cambridge, England and taken at the end of Form 5.

WISS is an International Baccalaureate World School and is authorised to implement the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The programme started in January 2020 with form 6 students.

Our classes are small with a maximum of 25 students, in order to emphasise individual attention.

As soon as you enter our building, you will notice that our students are well-rounded, friendly, open minded and true global citizens who work hard and enjoy learning.

If you get the chance, please do come and visit us. We’ll all be delighted to see you.

We commit to providing a challenging, engaging, and internationally-minded education in world-class facilities.

HOW WE GOT STARTED…

The current private international English-medium secondary schooling options are limited on the island and there are none on the west coast. As a result, many children are traveling sometimes up 2 hours a day to reach those schools mostly found in town or further away.

The schooling shortage needed to be addressed urgently, and this is why we have established a local private International secondary school, namely Westcoast International Secondary School (WISS).
